How Customers Can Track Orders Online
Learn how customers track local orders on KyoskGo by order number, what status and payment information they see, and how OTP verification protects phone-based lookups.

After you place a local order, you usually want three answers: Did the business receive it? What is the status? How much do I still owe?
KyoskGo gives customers a public order tracking page at `/orders/track` so you do not have to guess from old chat messages.
This guide explains what you can see, how lookup works, and what the platform does not expose for privacy and security.
When to use order tracking
Use tracking when:
- You ordered from a KyoskGo storefront and received an order number.
- You want to see if the order is confirmed, preparing, ready, or completed.
- You need the remaining balance or payment instructions.
- You want to upload payment proof if the business uses manual confirmation.
Tracking is for customers. Vendor dashboards, admin tools, and internal analytics are not part of this flow.
Method 1: Track by order number
The fastest path is the order number from your confirmation screen or message from the business.
- Open `/orders/track`.
- Choose lookup by order number.
- Enter the full order number exactly as shown.
- View the order summary, line items, status, and payment summary when available.
If the business shared a link with `?orderNumber=` in the URL, the page may start the lookup automatically.
Method 2: Track by phone with OTP verification
Some flows let you search with the phone number used at checkout. Because phone numbers can match multiple orders or sensitive records, KyoskGo may require OTP verification before showing results.
That is intentional. Order details can include amounts, addresses in notes, and payment history. Verification reduces casual lookups by strangers.
If OTP fails, use the order number instead or contact the business directly.
What you will see on a valid lookup
A typical tracking result includes:
- Order number and date.
- Business name and link back to the public profile.
- Current order status (for example pending, confirmed, preparing, ready, completed, cancelled).
- Line items with quantities and prices in the business currency.
- Payment status such as unpaid, partial, or paid.
- Amount paid and amount still due when payments are recorded in the system.
- Business payment instructions when the vendor configured UPI, bank details, or notes.
You see what the vendor’s workflow has updated. If status has not changed, the business may still be busy—not every shop updates in real time.
Paying the remaining balance
When an order is still payable, tracking or the dedicated customer payment page may show:
- UPI ID or QR when configured.
- Bank transfer details.
- Accepted methods (UPI, cash, bank transfer, other).
- Option to upload a payment screenshot with claimed amount and note.
Important: uploading proof is not the same as automatic card capture. The vendor reviews proof and approves or rejects it. Your payment status updates after that review and any manual payment entry.
What customers cannot see
To protect businesses and other buyers, tracking does not give you:
- Access to another customer’s orders without the right order number or verified phone.
- Vendor cost margins or internal notes meant for staff only.
- Guaranteed live GPS delivery tracking unless the business communicates that separately.
Tips for fewer support messages
- Save the order number immediately after checkout.
- Use the same phone number you gave at checkout if you rely on phone lookup.
- Open the business profile link from tracking if you need to reorder.
- Upload clear payment proof with the correct amount if asked.
- Check tracking again after the vendor’s stated prep time instead of only messaging.
For businesses: help customers track successfully
Vendors should:
- Send the order number in the first confirmation message.
- Link to `/orders/track` in WhatsApp or SMS templates.
- Update status when kitchen or packing milestones change.
- Configure payment instructions so customers are not asking for UPI IDs repeatedly.

FAQ
I lost my order number. What should I do?
Contact the business with your name, phone, and order time. They can look up the order in the vendor dashboard. Phone-based tracking with OTP may work if you used that number at checkout.
Why does tracking say unpaid after I paid?
If you paid outside the platform (cash, direct UPI without confirmation, or transfer), the vendor may not have recorded or approved the payment yet. Upload proof if the business uses that workflow.
Can I track bookings the same way?
Service bookings use a separate booking tracking flow at `/bookings/track` when the business uses appointments. Food and product orders use order tracking.
Is order tracking the same as a delivery app map?
No. KyoskGo tracks order and payment state from the business workflow. Live driver maps are not implied unless the vendor tells you separately.
Do I need a KyoskGo account?
Not always for a single lookup by order number. An account helps if you want a dashboard of your orders and bookings over time.
